Frequently asked

The usual questions.

The questions we are asked most about ordering, delivery and payment, plus a few from people who have only just heard of us. If yours is not here, just write to us.

Ordering and delivery

How do I place an order?

Orders are settled over messages. Write to us on WhatsApp or give us a call; the kitchen answers directly. Tell us what you would like, how many people it is for and what day you need it. The order is confirmed once we come back to you with the date and the amount.

Can I collect my order, or eat at the kitchen?

There is no dining room; it is not a place to sit down and eat. But there is a small waiting area at the kitchen entrance: you can collect your order there and watch the pass at work while you wait. For collection, just write to us in advance. Otherwise Gören is a cloud kitchen: we cook in a single kitchen and send the food straight to your address.

Where do you deliver?

The kitchen is near Vadistanbul, and we deliver from Maslak to Vadistanbul. If your address is outside that stretch, write to us and we will see what we can do. We agree the delivery time, and any minimum order for your address, while we talk the order through.

What are your ordering hours?

We take orders every day between 11:00 and 18:00. If you write outside those hours we reply once ordering opens again.

Why do some dishes have to be ordered in advance?

Slow-cooked dishes are not sitting ready on the pass; they begin once you order. That is why we talk some dishes through at least a day in advance; all we need from you is the day you want them for.

How does payment work?

There is no online payment on the site. We settle payment while we talk the order through, together with the date and the amount.

Where can I find allergen information?

All of our food is prepared in a single kitchen where gluten, milk, egg, fish, sesame and nuts are all in use, so we cannot rule out cross-contamination. If you have a food allergy, write to us before you order and we will go through the dish's ingredients with you one by one.

Should I order through the delivery apps or directly from you?

Either works, but the lists are different. The delivery apps carry our daily menu, which changes every day. The slow-cooked dishes made to order do not fit the delivery apps' timings, so they are prepared for direct orders only, over WhatsApp or by phone.

What kind of place is Gören?

What is Gören Mutfak Atölyesi?

A single kitchen near Vadistanbul. There is no dining room, only a small waiting area; it works as a cloud kitchen and delivers from Maslak to Vadistanbul. The food is cooked over a slow fire and in a stone dome oven, and only a set number of plates leave the kitchen each day. Fuat Gören, who built the kitchen, spent twenty-five years in state protocol, restaurant and hotel kitchens. The daily menu is on the delivery apps; dishes made to order are taken over WhatsApp or by phone.

Is it a restaurant, a caterer or a takeaway?

None of the three quite fits. It is not a restaurant with a dining room, so you cannot eat here; but you can collect your order from our small waiting area. Event catering that calls for waiting staff, equipment and on-site setup is not our work either; but we can cook for a large table or a small gathering. Gören is a cloud kitchen: it cooks in one kitchen and sends the food straight to your address. You will also find our daily menu on the delivery apps.

Where is the best food near Vadistanbul?

"Best" is not ours to declare; that call is yours. What we can tell you is this: Gören Mutfak Atölyesi is a single kitchen near Vadistanbul. We cook over a slow fire and in a stone dome oven, and only a set number of plates leave each day. Fuat Gören, who built the kitchen, has a past that runs from Ankara's state protocol kitchens to Dubai. Try it once and judge for yourself.

What would you suggest for dinner around Vadistanbul and Maslak?

It depends on how many of you there are. For a table of two or three, the daily menu is enough; order it through the delivery apps or on WhatsApp. For a bigger table, we talk the slow-cooked sharing dishes through at least a day in advance. Tell us what you have in mind and we will put the table together with you.

Can you cook for a large table or a special occasion?

We can. Tell us how many people it is for and what day you need it, and we will build the menu with you. Slow-cooked dishes need at least a day's notice. We do not take on function catering that needs waiting staff and on-site setup; our work is food that leaves the kitchen as finished plates and goes to your table. If you have a different kind of collaboration in mind, write to us anyway and we will talk.
